Kyle opened the door slowly and peered out at the other. He paused for a few moments trying not to do something he'd regret. But the only thing he wanted to do was curl in Stan's arms. So that's what he did. He placed himself in Stan's arms, resting his head in the crook of the other's neck and sighed. "I'm sorry, dude. I shouldn't have been so quick to get angry... I'm just scared."
He let his fingers curl around the collar of Stan's jacket and kissed his neck. "Come on... since we got through the door way I bet we can just sneak in without paying." He laughed to try to bridge over their relationship. "But... you really thought you were lucky to pick me up? I mean, I just really love you, dude. A lot."

"Duh, dude, look at you," Stan answered, turning Kyle around to look at their reflections in the mirror above the nearest sink. It wasn't the most beautiful way to have done this, with the streaked mirrors in a clean-but-far-from-spotless bathroom, but he smiled at the sight of their reflection. He wrapped his arms around Kyle's waist and pulled the boy back against his chest. "You look awesome."
"We look good together," he continued after a fond beat that was just spent taking the image in. He released Kyle to grab his hand and lead them out of the bathroom. "Make sure your mom gives me copies of the pictures she took."

Kyle nodded softly when the other said that they looked good together. It was true. Kyle reached Stan's shoulder, and where his body curved, Stan's stood out. the curve of his back fit into the outing of Stan's chest. Besides that, Kyle was scrawny and a bit dorky where Stan was broad and cool. They just seemed to be such polar opposites yet workable in a perfect way.
"She'll probably get doubles of all of them," Kyle said and lead him into the gym where the lighting was dim except for a few bright lasers dancing along the ceiling. There were dozens of couples out on the dance floor along with groups of friends and even a few loners. It was all the redhead could have hoped for. "Lets go find our spot," he shouted over the music.

Stan nodded, guiding Kyle through the crowd until they came to an open spot. He pulled Kyle close to him, smiling at him lovingly before transitioning their position into a dance. "I can't believe we didn't pay," he said, feigning offense to the idea only because it had been Kyle's suggestion. He kept his mouth tipped closely to Kyle's ear, wanting everything they did tonight to have some air of privacy even as every teenager in town danced beside them. "Of all the reasons we could get kicked out now, punching Cartman's still my favorite."

Kyle laughed lightly and made a fist with his one hand, playfully punching Stan's side. "You want me to punch him? Maybe when we leave," he smiled and rested his head on the other's shoulder. He would never retaliate against the other unless the fat boy deserved it, but if it amused Stan he didn't mind teasing and joking. "Come on, let's pick our spot."

"Here's not good enough?" Stan asked lightly. He spun them around and danced them backwards through a handful of dancers, knowing well enough that it likely annoyed them but hoping Kyle, at least, found it endearing. "How about here? Or--" He let go of Kyle to try and look around them, then pulled him further to the right, this time not bothering to make a show of it and definitely disrupting even more couples.
"Here. Dead center of the room," he said, resting his hands on Kyle's hips. "We're gonna have our first real dance in the middle of everything. Kind of a pain in the ass to get punch now, but... pretty romantic, right?" He smiled hesitatingly, hoping Kyle agreed, as he carefully drew the boy in against himself.

"Dude, I totally agree with you and everything... but..." Kyle shifted near the other, and got comfortable. "Your heart is beating faster than mine. And you have asthma. Don't get an attack out here on the floor because I won't know how to help you, or I'll just give you the kiss of life and it won't really end up as much saving and sexy." He laughed against Stan's chest and closed his eyes against the onlookers.

Stan nodded, settling his arms around Kyle more snugly. "That would make it a memorable prom, at least," he said idly as they started dancing to the music. He surveyed the crowd carefully, not entirely sure what he expected. There wasn't anything too awful being hurled their way, past some snickers and insults, but then maybe everyone in South Park was used to more outlandish things to let two boys dancing together at prom upset them. It also helped that they hadn't run into Cartman yet. "It's going pretty well so far, anyway, though."

"Is it," Kyle asked from behind closed eyes. He was starting to fade from caring about every glance to being hypnotized by the sound of Stan's heart drumming by his ear, or being preoccupied with his warmth. Stan had always been like that; his natural instincts just seemed to calm him. His fingers curled into the back of Stan's neck as he opened his eyes to look at the other. "I'm really, really happy we decided to do this Stan." He bit the corner of his lip before almost whispering the request, "Kiss me?"

"Thought we didn't have anything to prove," Stan teased without any heat behind the words as he pulled back to look at Kyle. He didn't want Kyle to take back the request because of their earlier discussion about kissing in front of everyone, however. He quickly dipped his head down before Kyle could respond, catching his mouth with his own. He rested his hands on Kyle's hips, slowing their dance to a peaceful rocking.
"I love you," he mumbled against Kyle's mouth before moving the small space to claim another kiss. It was nice to be like this, to have their own moment so completely. It didn't occur to him to look around again to gauge everyone else's reactions.

"I love you more," Kyle answered with truth and confidence. They may not have anything to prove, but all the same Kyle loved kissing the other boy in the crowed. It almost made him feel euphoric. He tried to analyze those thoughts further and figure out why he loved it, but he couldn't. It seemed as if reasoning had left him the second Stan pulled him into his arms. And if Kyle lost reasoning and logic, he knew Stan had power over him. "Your hair looks amazing in the lights," Kyle blubbered out and instantly blushed.
"Oh, fuck me. I didn't mean that. I mean, I did but I didn't mean to say that. It's just that everything is going so amazing and you look fantastic which makes me nervous and then I trip over my words like I am now and--" he stopped, finally running out of breath. The pause gave his mind time to clear enough so that it was screaming over the word-vomit and kyle's inability to be articulate in these situations. "I think I made a better date when I wasn't talking. I'll shut up now."

"No," Stan said, pulling Kyle in again and resuming their dance. "It'd be lame if you were quiet all the time." He closed his eyes and rested his head against Kyle's. Just as Kyle had predicted, they were dancing at a pace too slow for the music, but he didn't feel any urge to go more quickly. It was nice just to be together like this, holding each other close. And it was nice that everyone around them--at least those who noticed-- knew, even though he suspected they'd be catching more flack for it when they went to school than they were now.
"I'm glad you're having a good time. And that you like my hair; I like yours, too," Stan said quietly. He focused solely on their dance for a moment before asking, "Are you less nervous now? About coming out."

"Stan, shut the hell up." Kyle said affectionately and snuggled into Stan's arms again. He didn't want the moment to be scarred with unnessisary thoughts and questions. What really mattered now was the present, not the future. And when Kyle dwelled on the future their relationship became turbulent. Right now he just wanted to be able to listen to the horrible music and dance under the shitty lights with the man he loved.
"I swear dude, if we ever going to get married you'd be the one starting to make plans for your funeral that night." He laughed lightly. Sometimes it felt as if Stan was always on the cynical and pessimistic side of things, but luckily he was understanding enough to pick himself up again.

"Don't be a douche," Stan answered, not at all upset. It was true enough. While he didn't think he worried about things going wrong more than Kyle did, he was more prone to actually expecting it. "We leave before it ends," he said thoughtfully, "I bet we could still hear the music if we stayed close enough, we could dance a couple songs outside without the crowd, and leave a couple minutes before everyone else. Unless you want to stay and talk."

"I'm happy here." Kyle said softly into Stan's chest. In fact he had murmured so gently that he worried the other couldn't hear him. But then again, Kyle's auditory senses were lacking due to the blood rushing past his ears. "And... I don't mean here as in on the dance floor in South Park - fucking - High. I mean, here as in with you." He said a bit more confidently. "I think... I think I'd be happy anywhere as long as you were with me." He added and placed his head back into its spot on Stan's shoulder, right under his jaw. "As gay as that sounds. But I figured that if we're gay, we might as well act like it," He was joking about that part, trying to lighten the mood after saying something so confidential. ((I'm so sorry about that! I have been too Is it anything I could help with?))
